Counters and canopies

Smooth passenger handling and a positive first impression largely depend on attractive and efficient counter facilities, starting with ticketing and extending right through to check-in desks, passport control and gate counters. NKI Group custom-designs, manufactures and installs all of these products in conjunction with all associated supporting and technical equipment.

Often in combination with check-in islands, NKI Group installs canopy structures required to support technical systems such as flight information displays, signage, lighting and climate control systems. In turnkey airport interior projects, NKI Group takes care of the total check-in facilities, and if required the baggage handling and security systems, while in other projects NKI Group manufactures and installs the counters, only co-ordinating the interfaces with baggage handling and other systems.

Specific security and immigration requirements are addressed in close co-operation with airport security and border patrol authorities. These include passport control and immigration counters, with or without glass and barriers, and where required, including integrated document processing systems.

Meeting the increasing demand to replace service counters by self-service systems, NKI Group develops concepts for automatic check-in facilities. The emphasis in this product range focuses on user-friendliness, easy/simple maintenance and integration into the overall interior concept.
